Gabe Bergeron Short Stories The first of a series of short stories is set to be published in early March. Naturally, they will feature Gabriel Henri Bergeron, CPA, his relatives, friends, co-workers, and, of course, Corentin Georges Poirier, FBI special agent extraordinaire and Gabe's inamorato. Not to mention the villains Gabe seems to run into with distressing frequency. This adventure begins with Cory and Matt Bornheimer, Cory's FBI partner, expressing an interest in Gabe's first case...his first case involving the forces of law and order. He had cast his mind back to his student days...really not that long ago at all...and recalled a spot of grand theft auto perpetrated upon Aunt Flo.   Naturally, Gabe had sallied forth to discover the truth...selflessly, valiantly....without regard for danger to life and limb.

The Detective with Dishpan Hands     Gabe goes to visit his Aunt Flo (really his great-aunt) after a fire on the 11 th floor of the Mahr building reduces his workplace to a sodden, charred ruin. Before departing for Snow Hill, Maryland, he can't help noticing that the accounting firm of Garst, Bauer & Hartmann and his boss, Jennifer, in particular are reeling. The reasons don't appear to be entirely fire related? Of course, Gabe had nothing to do with the fire or the reeling, and, surprisingly, no one even looks at him funny or casts hurtful aspersions!   Gabe is happy to work remotely from Aunt Flo's B&B near Snow Hill, Maryland, since she needs his help with feeding the guests. He prepares sumptuous breakfasts for the ravening horde; much better than they deserve...in Gabe's opinion.      And while he is thus engaged, he renews some acquaintances from his youth. They range from the exceedingly pleasant to the not so much.   ...
